For objects too big for a desktop printer we use large-format machines that build pieces over a metre tall in one go, or in sections that are joined and finished so the seams disappear. Recent work includes decorative trees and cakes for seasonal displays, oversized product replicas, mascots and shop-window props. The printed shell is sanded, filled, primed and painted, or coated in fibreglass when it has to live outdoors.
